Harrison Ford is all set to return to his most
beloved role in a couple of years time, perhaps for the last time. In
2019, a Harrison Ford Indiana Jones 5 movie will come to our screens
with the actor reprising his role and legendary Steven Spielberg
will also return to direct. Now, the film is still obviously a way off,
but Ford has already been talking about returning to the screen as the
legendary archaeologist.
Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel’s TV chat show, Ford revealed why he was returning:
“The opportunity to work with Steven again on this character which has brought pleasure to so many”, he said. “Not
to mention me. It’s fun, it’s great fun to play this character. It’s
great fun to work with Steven, I’m looking forward to it”.
We’re guessing that shooting will probably start on the film late
next year, or even in 2018, with a release date set for the summer of
2019. We’re going to be patient, as the thought of any Harrison Ford
Indiana Jones 5 movie is exciting, and one we thought we’d never get.
Indiana Jones exploded onto our screens back in 1981 with the superb Raiders Of The Lost Ark, a film that is thought to be one of the best action adventure movies of all time. It was followed up with Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom in 1984, and then Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Just a few years ago, Spielberg and Ford reunited for the very lacklustre Indiana Jones and the Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.
That movie was not received too well, but now that Lucasfilm is in the
hands of Disney, we’re expecting good things from the next film in the
franchise. David Koepp will write the screenplay for Indiana Jones 5, and we’ll bring you more news as we get it.
