Storyline: 

After crashing a key on uncharted territory, Air Force pilot Carol Danvers is brought up by the Kree to being a member of the elite Starforce Military under the command of her mentor Yon-Rogg. Six years later, after crash landing on Earth while under attack by the Skrulls, Danvers begins to discover that she is not who she believes she is. With help from SHIELD agent Nick Fury, Danvers begins to unravel the truth about her past. What she discovers is a secret that will unleash her true power and becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes ever known.

Synopsis/Plot: 

Set in 1995, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, as she turns into one of the galaxy's mightiest heroes and joins Starforce, an elite Kree military team, before returning home with new questions about her past and identity when the Earth is caught in the center of a galactic conflict between two alien worlds.

Development: 

In March 2014, Kevin Feige confirmed "[they had] talked a lot" about the character headlining their first film with a female protagonist, while acknowledging she had taken on the mantle of Captain Marvel in the comics.[2] Later, he mentioned Captain Marvel as one of the films he is asked the most about from fans.

It was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 18, 2016 that Brie Larson would play the lead of the film.

On July 6, 2017, rumors were confirmed that Samuel L. Jackson would reprise his role as the character Nick Fury and co-star alongside Brie Larson.

At the San Diego Comic-Con on July 22, 2017, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said that 'Captain Marvel' will be set in the 1990s. The panel also revealed concept art for the production.

The movie started production in Atlanta on January 8, 2018, and will use Pinewood Atlanta Studios as its home base.

On September 5, 2018, Entertainment Weekly released an exclusive first look on Larson's Captain Marvel, and confirmed Ben Mendelsohn's casting as the Skrull's leader, Talos.
